ARIANNA'S TOMATO AVOCADO SALAD

The perfect summer snack.

My cousin Arianna whipped up this delicious simple salad for me this week, complete with fresh basil from her garden. The secret to a succulent tomato salad, according to Papou, is salt. He would slice up tomatoes from their garden at the lake and season them with a generous "pinch" of sea salt, letting them marinate to bring out the flavor of the fruit. Try this recipe for an easy summer side dish or mid-afternoon bite.

INGREDIENTS:

- Handful of cherry tomatoes, halved

- Avocado, cubed

- Drizzle of seasoned olive oil (She uses The Olive and the Grape from Cleveland, OH)

- Sprinkle of hemp seeds

- Pinch of salt

- Fresh basil, torn

RECIPE:

Place tomatoes in a bowl and salt generously. Add avocado. Drizzle with olive oil. Sprinkle hemp seeds and top with fresh basil.
