Inspired by Italian lifestyle and architecture, the popular Instagram page is filled with swoon worthy photos that perfectly capture the beauty of the country. Now more than ever, Ryan's curated collection of doors has been an outlet to transport your mind to Italy until traveling is an option again. He put together a special series of doors of Italy to share with Summer Wind. Hear about what summer means to Ryan below.
When you think of summer, what is the first thing that comes to mind?
Relaxing under a colorful umbrella somewhere on the Italian coast, and most likely with an Aperol Spritz or Negroni in my hand.
Your most memorable door and the story behind it?
The Door to Paradise in Ostuni. It was a place that I kept seeing on Instagram and was one of the first places I adventured to when living in Italy. Its a beautifully painted door that just sits right on the edge of the hilltop town and creates such a picturesque scene.
What is your favorite summer destination to visit?
Ischia. It is one of my all-time favorite places I have ever been to, it’s just an authentic Italian beach experience. Often overlooked because of the glitzy island of Capri right next to it that draws more of the tourist crowds, Ischia is a hidden gem in the Tyrrhenian Sea.
A summer tradition you love?
I’m not really sure I have a tradition but during the summer any time I can get to the beach, I make sure to get there.
If you could take a piece of summer with you all year long, what would it be?
Just the feeling of relaxation the minute your feet hit the sand or when you first dive into the sea, its just a feeling of freedom from all your worries.
